Joseph Family 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley: $ 32.00 bottle
Created by Scott Peterson and finished by David Ramey, the 2006 vintage is multi-layered, with black cherry infused with a hint of cedar and mocha. The fruit is beautifully balanced with a smooth and long finish. Unfiltered but naturally fined, this wine has tremendous structure and fruit, without the feel of excessive tannins or acids, the result of seamless integration of the oak and fruit in barrel. Joseph Family Vineyards is a small family-owned and operated producer of classic Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Located in the south-east corner of the Alexander Valley, our vines climb a steep gravel slope above the Russian River valley.
Freemark Abbey 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley: $ 30.00 bottle
The appearance is opaque dark red with ruby hues. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of dark cherry, blackberry syrup, bruleed sugar and aromatic cedar. The integration of oak adds hints of walnut oil, cinnamon and clove. Powerful, yet elegantly balanced, the flavors of blueberry, black currant, mint, cedar, and full cherry-berry notes lead into a fleshy mid-palate, over a bed of resolved tannins. This wine is full-flavored from start to finish, with a very long lingering fruitfulness dusted with cocoa.
Frank Family 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley: $ 38.00 bottle
Our 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep purple color. The aromas are overflowing with the scent of a ripe blackberry patch, sweet vanilla and juicy black cherries. Notes of aniseed, chocolate covered blueberries and wildflower honey are intermingled throughout, followed by dusty cedar and a hint of roasted pecans. The palate is abundant and lively bursting with juicy loganberries, black huckleberries, fresh baked spice cake and a touch of cinnamon toast. This bounty of flavor is harmoniously balanced by a well structured mouthfeel of velvety tannins that are graceful and supple with lasting grip.
