The tradition of winemaking in the Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler family goes back to the 16th century. The parish records of the Moselle River Valley town of Wehlen contain the names of the Dr.Pauly-Bergweiler family from that era onwards. From the very beginning and down to this day, the first priority of the family was to produce Riesling wines of the highest quality.
Steep slopes, a cool climate and bluish-grey stone slate from the Devonian Period are factors that work together to create the combination which makes Moselle wines so distinctive. These factors are amplified by rigorous handpicking and a careful selection of grapes during the grape harvest. This guarantees that only the best grapes come into the cellar.
